The library collects geoscientific literature and maps from all countries.

The library's collection can be used by the public interested in geological subjects. User must have a borrower's card. This card will be issued at the circulation desk.

Along with the location in Hannover, there is another site in Clausthal: the administrative location of the Regional Authority for Mining, Energy and Geology.

The archives collect unpublished geologically relevant reports and maps.

The archives can be used by the public interested in geological subjects. All materials can be viewed on location in the reading room except for reports that have been provided with a lockflag.
